SERVICE AREAS
A bathroom is split into zones around the shower and bath under AS/NZS 3000, and each zone dictates what IP rating a fan and its switch can have — a fan mounted directly above a shower needs a higher rating than one on the far wall, so we work out the zones for your bathroom before we choose the fan rather than fitting whatever's in the van. Where the existing fan is wired straight off the light switch with no separate control, we can add timer or humidity-sensor switching so the fan keeps running after the light's turned off, since most moisture damage happens from fans getting switched off too early rather than the fan itself being underpowered. We run the circuit so switches sit outside the zoned area or are correctly rated if they don’t, and we check the ducting is actually terminating outside the house rather than dumping straight into the roof space, which is one of the most common issues we find on older bathroom fans. Every job is tested for correct operation and signed off against the wet-area wiring rules before we finish up.
