Moving from analogue to IP cameras isn't a drop-in swap - IP cameras run on Cat6 and PoE rather than the coax and separate power leads analogue systems use, so upgrading usually means new cabling rather than just a new recorder. We tell you upfront whether your upgrade is a straightforward camera swap or a full re-cable, so there's no surprise once we're into the job.Adding cameras to cover gaps only helps if the recorder can actually handle them - more cameras means more storage and more load on the PSU or PoE switch, and we check both before recommending extra coverage rather than adding a camera that overloads what’s already there. Where retention matters, a business needing weeks of footage rather than days, we size the storage for that rather than the recorder’s default.
